The Cosmic Catastrophe game does not collect personal data in the background: it has no analytics, advertising, or tracking. Two things can send data to the developer, and only when you choose to: the playtest sign-up form on our website (see "Playtest sign-up" below), and the feedback panel that exists only in tester and demo builds (see "Feedback reports" below). The paid release does not include the feedback panel.
None. The game does not automatically collect or send:
If you sign up for the internal playtest at cosmic-catastrophe.com, we collect the name and email address you enter, the platform you will play on, how much you play deckbuilders, and an optional note. We use it only to invite you to the playtest (for example, adding you to the itch.io page or a Google Play test track) and to share playtest news. It is stored in a Google Form and its linked Google Sheet, which only the developer can open. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else. We keep your sign-up for 12 months after you sign up, after which we delete it. To have your sign-up deleted sooner, email [email protected]. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads. The website does not use cookies or analytics.
Tester and demo builds of the game include a Feedback panel. The paid release does not include it, so it sends nothing. After an error is logged, a tester or demo build may also offer to open the panel for you; the offer does nothing until you act on it.
When it is sent: only when you press Send in the Feedback panel. If the device is offline or the send fails, the report is kept in a local queue on your device and sent on a later launch. A report that still fails after 5 attempts is moved to a separate folder on your device and stays there unsent, and when the queue passes 50 reports or 20 MB the oldest are dropped (screenshots are removed first). Unsent reports stay on your device until you uninstall the game or delete its data.
What a report contains:
C:\Users\<user>\) with a placeholder; user names that appear
anywhere else in a log line are not changed. The Feedback panel lists what is sent, and that it goes to the
developer through Google Forms, above the Send and Close buttons.A report does not include your name or email address unless you type them into the message.
Where it goes and who can read it: the report is sent to a Google Form operated by the developer. Its responses are stored in the form's linked Google Sheet, which only the developer can open. We do not sell reports or share them with anyone else. Because the form is a Google service, Google also processes the data under its own privacy policy.
The text of each report (message, details and log) is also copied into the developer's private issue tracker (GitHub); the screenshot is not copied there and stays only in the form response. The copy is deleted at the same 12-month point. The one exception: if a report led to a bug fix we are tracking, that issue may be kept, with your personal details removed from it.
How long we keep it: 12 months from receipt, after which we delete it. To have a report deleted sooner, email [email protected] with the build version and the approximate time you sent it.
Cosmic Catastrophe does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or social login SDKs. The only third-party service that receives data is Google, through the website sign-up form and the feedback reports described above.
The game may optionally use platform services provided by Apple (Game Center) or Google (Play Games) for leaderboards and achievements in future releases. If that feature is enabled, those platforms govern their own data practices under their respective privacy policies. We will update this document at that time.
Cosmic Catastrophe is built with the Unity engine (Unity Technologies, Inc.). The Unity Analytics module is present in the project's package manifest but has not been enabled or initialized — no gameplay events, session data, or device identifiers are sent to Unity or to us. Unity Cloud Diagnostics (crash reporting) and Unity Gaming Services are not integrated.
For information about what Unity Technologies itself collects at an engine or platform level, see the Unity Technologies Privacy Policy.
Run progress and settings are saved locally on your device. The game does not upload them and they are not accessible to us. Unsent feedback reports are also kept locally, as described above. A feedback report you send includes the run details listed above, not your save file.
Cosmic Catastrophe is not directed at children under 13. The game collects no personal data in the background. The playtest sign-up and feedback reports are for testers and are not aimed at children; if you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
If we add features that involve data collection, this policy will be updated before the feature ships and the effective date above will be revised.
